If you talk with any mover that is in the phone book or belongs to some hoity toity moving club almost invariably they will tell you to stay away from Craigslist moving companies.
Why is that?
That is truly easy to answer: It’s because Craigslist movers are cheaper then those big brand name moving companies. What they are trying to do is protect their business by demeaning movers that are getting work at lower prices.
Of course those big box brand movers will try and scare you, telling you how they are rogue (illegal) movers and that they will just try and rip you off. While it’s true there are some bad apples on Craigslist, the truth is far from the fantasy that the moving companies will spill.
Truth be told it is the big name movers that actually cause more of the moving scams per a very informal survey that I did a couple years back.
Hiring movers off Craigslist can be a very enjoyable experience. Most of the movers that list their services on Craigslist are hard working and professional movers that will give the best service at a very low cost. True, many of them may not be licensed and insured, but that doesn’t mean that they are bad or scammers as the big box named movers will try to get you to believe.
Like all things you pay for what you get and you will have to do a little research to weed out those that will be bad, but by doing a little homework finding the bad apples (which they are few and far between) is so super easy that a monkey could do it.
I have no problem promoting my brothers in Christ’s Grand Rapids moving company. Of course you have already heard of them as I have recently just did a write up for them a few days back, and that company is…
As a Christian and a mover I hold myself up to higher standard. Not just a more ethical standard to the public eye but up to a better standard to my Lord Jesus Christ so I have stay true what I publish and commit to. And the amount that I charge for my moving services is something that I have to keep as gospel so to speak.
Here is a great video that explains how mover charge for their services:
Of course there is a great informative article that you can read as well. It’s long but it is a lot more detailed all you have to do is click here for the article.
I hope that this little post helps you to answer that age old question.
The above two video reviews are just a sampling of the 1000’s of positive testimonials that this company has gotten since they have opened their doors back in July of 2008.
U-Save Moving and Storage is celebrating their 7th year of business this July and the owner, Jae Burnham, says it is going to be a big blow out. He knows that he has very blessed by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Three years ago Jae made some very bad and serious mistakes that landed him in jail for 2 months. When he got out he had nothing left. He was homeless; had no money and no business. What he did have was Jesus whom he finally heard and accepted in his heart while he was in jail. And Jae knows that his business is successful only because of the Lord and all the glory goes to our heavenly Father.
Jae still dedicates his life and business to Jesus and he is very active in Bible studies and some church activities.
So Jae says that the reason his moving company is so successful is because he knows that it is the will of the Lord that be in this business. He admits that he finds it extremely frustrating that he remains the size that he is but he knows that the Lord has plans for him and this business is at the heart of it.
So if you need or want a great company that base their company on Christian principles then look up U-Save Moving and Storage or visit their website http://usavemovingandstorage.com
Let me see if I can’t be a little more helpful in that regard.
If you are a younger child or an adult that doesn’t read all that well then you might want to pick up the easier Bible translations. There is a good one that most people use and it’s called The Message.
The Message is not a translation as it is a contemporary re-writing of the Bible. The problem with this Bible and those of a similar nature is they get into commentary that may not be the most biblical.
But the easy Bibles are good if you are looking to read the Bible and get a basic understanding of what you need.
If you are a good student and read well then the medium Bibles just may be for you. These Bibles are the thought for thought style Bibles. The biggest and most popular of these type book are the NIV aka New International Version.
These Bibles are translations and they are translated by taking the thoughts instead of word for word. There is one exception to this. The ESV or English Standard Version is a word for word translation but it is written in modern style English so it is fairly easy to read and understand. In fact, the ESV is taking Church world by storm.
I recommend both the NIV and the ESV if you are looking for a medium Bible version.
As you probably suspect the hard versions are also the most difficult to read and understand. While there are some churches that swear by the these Bibles most people cannot properly read them, let alone understand them. And its not because they are stupid its because it is written in Old English.
This version of the Bible most people know as the King James Version.
This version of Bible is mostly used by the more erudite of us. It is very accurate in its translation but is not for the common person.
When reading or studying the Bible it is my recommendation that you have multiple styles of Bibles to read from as well as a good dictionary and concordance as well. That way if you read a verse and don’t quite grasp it then you can see how and what is written in the other versions and that may clear up the confusions that you may and will have.
Also by having a dictionary and concordance you will get a richer and deeper understanding of what is being communicated.
